GENERAL

Learn to play at least one Rock Band song(one I 100% on Expert!) on a real guitar. (I really have no clue on how to play, so this will be a challenge. And yes, I’m gonna steal Trine’s guitar for this one!)

Get at least one A on an exam. (Should be obtainable, I just need to work hard and pay attention!)

Fit into my t-shirts by summer. (I’ve already started on this, and I have faith. With a minimum of 3 trips to the gym a week, and a healthier diet, I’m confident!)

Hunt down and kill everyone responsible for “Evony” and its advertisements. (If I manage this I’m sure I’ll get a medal)

I got a Canon EOS 1000D for christmas from Trine. I shall put it to good use! (I love taking pictures. I predict I will be doing a lot of it this year! : D)

CODING

Create my very own WordPress template. (I like the one I use now, but I’ve had it for quite som time. By the end of the year I will be using my own design)

Create Trine’s webpage. (She pitched me her idea quite some time ago, I just procrastinate too much! I promise to be done this year!)

Finish one of my two Xbox 360 webpage projects. (I’ve somewhat started fooling around with concepts for a couple of different ideas. They’re both web-based and they’re both Xbox 360 related. I think both will be of great use, so I need to decide on which to start with. Hopefully at least one of them is complete and live by the end of 2010.)

GAMING

Stop being such an achievement whore. (Yeah, I am. I have yet to buy a game based on easiness of achievements, but I am close.)

Reach 50’000 Xbox GamerPoints. (I’m at 31’135 now. So I need to complete about 19 games this year. Considering how much I play this shouldn’t be a problem. Yeah, and disregard that achievement whore thing. I’ll never stop!)

Complete old games before buying new. (Like Mats, I have a real bad habit of not completing games. I need to change this!)

So there we have it. I believe most of them are achievable, but we’ll see. Happy New Year, everyone! : )

The thing is, I didn’t shave during July. At all. With SchiZo threatening to braid it in my sleep and me finally realizing it really didn’t look any good I decided to let it go. Also, people walking up to me on the street and giving me change got real old – real quick. I had to do something.

So, unless you’re easily offended, lock up your kids and throw your wife in the basement; Here We Go!

First; Let’s take a look at the equipment I had to use. A comb, scissors, a hair trimmer and a pack of one-time-use-only razors. I was ready, ready for the fight of a lifetime!

I’ve always wondered how I’d look with “a beard style”, so I decided to give it a go. First up: some kind of redneck/mormon mix. Achieved by shaving cheeks. Not too shabby.

Since I’m, well, neither mormon nor redneck I decided to keep going. Turns out I look a lot like Lenin.

Turns out I don’t have a soul, as my soul patch was a disgrace. It had to go.

With most of it gone I looked out of place. I had to get rid of everything. Which led to some problems. I’d forgotten shaving foam. D’oh! Had to run to the store – all shabby shaved and weird. Decided to invest in a proper razer, as my skin was clearly starting to hate my guts.

Now, watch out; partial nudity coming up!

And with everything finally off, this unknown 12 year old suddenly emerged from the battlefield. Ready to serve his Father and clean the Altar every morning!

Thankfully, I kept the beard and am now selling it on eBay. If you wanna bid search for “pubes from cute virgin”.

And there you have it – wow, this was humiliating. I have no self-respect. Also, this really made me realize I need to lose weight.

I’m so letting SchiZo braid it the next time. And if you didn’t find my beard on eBay – that’s because I am trying to be funny. Or because it sold out in seconds.

It’s been a couple of weeks since I last posted anything. The reason for my treason is school. I’m back to my IT studies. This time with what I like to call Motivation. I’ve finally settled in now though, so things are going great. I really think there’s a slight chance I’ll actually become something this time around. That’s kinda cool.

I’d like to thank everyone who gave me their valuable feedback and experience when I wanted help deciding on a DSLR, but as things unfold it seems I neither have the time nor the money to make such an investment now. The time is obviously because of school – I want to do well – the money is also, well kind of, because of school. I bought a Macbook Pro. And there’s no doubt about it; It was expensive. But so far I’m very pleased, and hopefully it’ll help me get trough all of my assignments when they start to pile up.

So there you have it, a little update about what’s going on. Stay tuned the next couple of days for pictures of me transforming from a 40 year old dirty hobo to a twelve year old innocent altar boy. In the meantine, if you’re feeling creative, I urge you to drop by my girlfriend’s oekaki board!

Oh, and I apologize for that penniless girl comment. I don’t even know what that was.

The design of the current thomasaj.com is finally done. Just some 18 months after launch. Not too shabby. I’d been thinking about replacing that green thingy I had pretty much every day since I first laid my eyes on it. I just didn’t know what to put there. That was until Trine drew me this one night. It’s way more fitting. Hopefully, that’s not how she sees me everyday, but it sure is a more fitting picture for this blog of mine. I use this place to vent. God knows I need it.

Also, we’ve gotten a new hobby. Goldfish! Meet Dizzy and Little Red Riding Hood. They are awesome. However, I predict this hobby will grow into an expensive one. Goldfish are cool.

In an earlier post I asked for some help and advice on buying a new phone. And boy, did you guys deliver. I got some really helpful and insightful comments in the post itself, and even a couple of e-mails. This is me thanking you. Thanks.

As I’m sure some of you now know the phone of choice ended up to be the iPhone. Yes, the iPhone. I have to admit that I’ve been a member of the many, many apple ‘haters’ around the internets (iSheep) for a while, but as Bjørn said in a comment, the iPhone is years ahead of anything I’ve ever tried.

The pros are simply too many to write about, but the app store is a stroke of genius. I can’t imagine having a phone without that option. Thankfully, it seems the competition are catching up to apple with their own stores.

There are a couple of drawbacks with the phone however, battery capacity being a major one.

After one month use I am as satisfied as I can be. Simply the best phone I’ve ever used. Perhaps some day I’ll write something more in-depth about my experiences with it. Don’t hold your breath, though. Thanks again.

I haven’t got the slightest idea of what to get. I’ve been contemplating the iPhone, a couple of Nokias ( N82 / N95 ), HTC Diamond and many others. These are all smartphones. Do I really need a smartphone? I used my K850i mainly for texting and calling. The camera was handy at times, but it never really was that important.  It had a pretty mediocre solution for playing music, so I never used it.  I would love a phone that could subscribe to podcasts and quench my thirst for Radioresepsjonen, though. One device. Multiple uses. Phone. Camera. MP3-player.  Portable Gaming. GPS. I would love a phone giving me all this. But what to get? As I’ve whined about earlier I’ve worked a lot lately, too much whine / work (take your pick!) perhaps, but anywho! 182 hours from christmas eve to the 20th of january.  I wish I had kept tabs on all the sausages I’ve sold, you would’ve been amazed and/or disgusted. People sure are crazy about their sausages. Hmm.  I might actually start counting how many I sell pr day and turn it into a pie chart. THE IRONY IS SIMPLY SUBLIME! Ahem..

182 hours. Even without the best of wages I still get one pretty hefty paycheck come this friday, can hardly wait. I’ve had such great plans for the money. A new laptop. A new phone. A trip somewhere nice. Books. Games. Candy.  Your Mother.  However, my teeth decided they wanted my full attention. Cue The Mandibular Third Molar. Yep. The dreaded Mandibular third molar. The one and only. The ‘wisdom teeth’.  ”Oh, cock! :(” I was chugging down painkillers like Amy Winehouse on a good day, but to no avail! The pain was everlasting and I knew I had to go visit my Old Enemy; The Dentist. I’m not one with an unhealthy fear of dentists. I just have a lot of bad experience with them. My first dentist as a child lost his license due to malpractice. (The guy was crazy, wanted to drill holes and extract every teeth you had!)

Anywho, my first trip to dentist in five years. I knew this was going to get ugly.  But no.  I had three holes. My dentist was slightly impressed.  As for the mandibular third molar he couldn’t do shit. “That’s how they work. They hurt. I’ll remove them further down the line, if they’re an annoyance.” Fair enough. The worst part about going to the dentist, however,  is the payment. My first check took about 25 minutes. It cost me 1100NOK.  Absurd. And the bloodsucker wanted me back two more times. That’s 3k straight out of my paycheck. Going nowhere. Money I’ll never see again. I hate teeth.

Long story short; I now have to make some cuts to my Shopping Spree List. Candy is out. The same goes for Your Mother. I desperately need a new phone, and a laptop so that’s that for now. Deciding on what to buy however – that’ll take me weeks!
