In retrospect; Using “preteen” in the title of a blog post wasn’t the smartest decision I’ve ever made. Amount of incoming spam comments has increased by a significant amount. Oh well, good thing Akismet is a wonderful creation.

And to all you crazy russian spambots; No, good Sirs, I haven’t got the slightest clue of how much money you guys should spend on birthday presents for your daughters. Good luck, though.

I’m having a hard time sleeping tonight, because of my twisted Circadian Rhythm. It’s never cool being unable to sleep, but tonight it did give me some time to clean up some parts of this very domain. Got rid of a bunch of useless/unused plugins always moaning about new updates. Readers have been unaffected by said plugins, but I feel a lot better about finally cleaning up that mess.

One thing that you are able to spot however, is the new breakdown of Categories. It used to be very uninviting and messy, so I tried to clean it up by breaking it down to three parent categories. The Everyday Life category should be self-explanatory and consists of things going on in my life; hobbies etc.

Rants is basically why I created this site in the first place. I like to write, and I felt the need for a place to vent. It should also be pretty self-explanatory. Rant Info is where I put posts like this one – information about what’s going on with thomasaj.com.

This new structure also paves the way for a more frequently updated site as I’m constricting myself to one category per post. I know that this isn’t possible to achieve all of the time (I know I’ll be angrily ranting away about school or work in the future), but for the most part I think it’ll work out pretty well.

I’m really satisfied with the new Categories section, and as always; comments, feedback, tips, flame, spam, tricks are appreciated.

On second thought; hold the spam.

The design of the current thomasaj.com is finally done. Just some 18 months after launch. Not too shabby. I’d been thinking about replacing that green thingy I had pretty much every day since I first laid my eyes on it. I just didn’t know what to put there. That was until Trine drew me this one night. It’s way more fitting. Hopefully, that’s not how she sees me everyday, but it sure is a more fitting picture for this blog of mine. I use this place to vent. God knows I need it.

Also, we’ve gotten a new hobby. Goldfish! Meet Dizzy and Little Red Riding Hood. They are awesome. However, I predict this hobby will grow into an expensive one. Goldfish are cool.

I finally got this site back up on its feet. Updated wordpress to the newest version, 2.8, and installed a bunch of widgets/plugins.

Not too many important new features, but I’ve added a ‘Share This’ panel on every post.  New blog entries should now be automagically sent to twitter. And I decided to add a little last.fm widget, just for the lols of it. If you’re a frequent iPhone user the site will now be more accessible as the mobile version now has its own skin. Easy living.

In other news, it’s way too hot today. Just typing is exhausting. Need ice cream. Need it now.

This is just a little heads up to let the millions of daily visitors to my site know that I’m still alive. I also predict an increase in number of posts in the following weeks and months.
